Novatech nBoxFor a long time truly compact PCs have been something that only businesses have had access to but now with the Novatech nBox that’s all changed. Compact in every way (so much so its compatible with VESA mounts for the back of a PC screen) this tiny PC also comes with a very basic specification including a single core Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive.

Although basic in design this PC is capable of taking on light tasks like web browsing, playing music (you will need a USB DVD drive with this PC as it doesn’t have one built in) and word processing.

As you might expect this PC also comes with a small price tag of just £229 with Windows XP Home Edition.

Priced at a mere £199 from HP direct (link) this PC comes with only the bare basics including Windows XP and a single core Intel Atom processor. Designed for nothing more than internet browsing, word processing and playing DVDs this PC is simplicity in a box.

A keyboard and mouse are included in the package so all you need is a monitor to get going, HP also include the standard 1 year warranty with the option to extend it further if needed.

As well as a DVD drive this PC comes with a memory card reader meaning its easy to move photos off your digital camera and into an email with ease.

This PC also comes with a 160GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM so multi tasking with light applications (Internet Explorer/Word) shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Mini PC with big attitude

ASRock Ion 330 Small PCs are great for using as media centres and for hiding under desks and the ASRock Ion from powerc.com (link) is quite possibly the smallest Desktop PC featured on this site so far.

Measuring in at 19.5cm x 7cm x 18.6cm this PC fills just 2.5l of space, if you cant visualise how small that is just find at 30cm ruler and be astonished at the result!

Inside this ultra small case is the Intel Atom Dual Core Processor which has been optimised for low energy consumption, while not the fastest processor out this PC is still perfectly capable of handling HD video courtesy of the nVidia Ion graphics core.

With its low power components this PC isn’t suitable for graphically intensive applications (games) however it will easily play HD video making it an ideal office PC.
